Hi,
I'm a trained costume maker and milliner with twenty years experience working in the costume industry. During this time I have been able to indulge my love of making beautiful things through creating a wide variety of costumes for Theatre, Dance, Film and Television, as well as bespoke pieces for private clients. Many of these were made in my attic workroom, the original Rooftop Atelier from which the school now takes its name.
Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to pass on my skills in both formal and informal teaching environments and now the Rooftop Atelier Sewing School is the realisation of a long time dream. I am delighted to be able to share my knowledge and divulge the tips and tricks I’ve picked upover the years with all who come to classes.
I have a passion for gorgeous vintage treasures, especially sewing related ones, the handmade, vintage and historical fashion and must admit to having a bit of a fabric obsession. Something I’m sure I’ll share with quite a few visitors to the sewing school!
Joining me at the Rooftop Atelier will be specialist tutors (and kindred spirits) with a wealth of knowledge to impart, who are also dedicated to demystifying the stitched arts.
We look forward to welcoming you and guiding you as you discover the joy of sewing ,further your skills and enjoy making beautiful things yourself.
